It’s been a long time… getting from there to here.
Raised as a military dependent, Jesse was an award-winning scholar and athlete in multiple sports. He was a National Merit Scholar, basketball MVP at Naples High School in 1977 and led the team to the DODDSEUR American Schools Italy League championship, stopping a 46-game winning streak by archival Vicenza to do it. Following graduation from NHS, he entered the USAF in 1977 and served in North Dakota and Germany, winning the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1979 and receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1981. During service time, he played basketball and volleyball for base teams in North Dakota and Germany. He attended Rose State College from 1982-4, studying Journalism, Theater and Broadcast Production. He appeared in several drama productions including The Glass Menagerie, Seascape, Black Coffee and Pillow Talk. He transferred to and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Philosophy in 1988.
Self-taught in computer science and programming, Jesse started a career as a computer professional in 1993, and became a pioneer of Internet and Web Development, winning recognition for achievements on several different projects including Duraflame, The Money Store and Saturn Cars websites. He taught computer programming in several schools in Northern California and worked as a freelance tutor, writer programmer and developer.
